Letter of certification
This letter certifies that an individual or business entity is a licensee in good standing in Oregon. Some state insurance departments require this letter, although licensing information can now be confirmed on the NAIC's Producer Licensing Database.
Visit www.statebasedsystems.com. Under State Services, choose Oregon. Find the link to Licensee Lookup. Enter the license number. The next screen is your Letter of Certification.
Letter of clearance
Some state insurance departments require a letter of clearance, which shows that a resident license has been surrendered or changed to non-resident, before an agent can obtain a resident license in a new state.
Letters of clearance may be requested by fax, email, or letter and must be requested by the agents.
No fees
No fees are required for either of these letters.
