Producer licensing tips

To print a copy of your license

Go to www.statebasedsystems.com. Under State Services, choose Oregon. You'll find a link on the menu to License Manager. Choose Oregon, fill in the blanks and hit “search.” At the top of the page, in the black band, you will find an icon to “Print License.”

To renew

Go to www.NIPR.com. Click on Renew. Choose the appropriate renewal type. On the next page, you’ll see a green “RENEW HERE” button. Select that. Do NOT click on the state. (This will just provide the state requirements. It will not allow you to renew in that area.) Click “Accept” in the lower right corner of the Use Agreement. Follow the directions, read carefully. Do not make any changes to your address etc. during the renewal. The page that says business affiliations ONLY applies to agencies. If you are an individual, just click next.

Your Oregon license number and NPN are the same number. If the system wants both, enter the same number twice.

Individual licenses expire every other year, on the last day of your birth month. The first renewal may be longer to get you to your birth month. Business entities renew every other year on the last day of the month the license was issued.

The Division will not provide paper renewals. BEFORE YOU ARE ALLOWED TO RENEW all required CE must be complete, downloaded in your record and downloaded to NIPR (this could be overnight or, it could take several days). Resident individuals are required to complete a total of 24 hours of continuing education. A minimum of 3 hours Oregon law and a minimum of 3 hours ethics are required; the balance of the 24 hours can be whatever meets your professional needs. A maximum of 8 hours credit per day is allowed . By law, CE providers have 15 days to upload your credits. Do not wait until the last minute to start your CE. The Division strongly recommends you ensure you are CE compliant the month prior to your birth month.
