The Prescription Drug Affordability Board (PDAB) is established in the Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) to protect residents of this state, state and local governments, commercial health plans, health care providers, pharmacies licensed in this state and other stakeholders within the health care system in this state from the high costs of prescription drugs. Enrolled Senate Bill 844 (2021) gives DCBS authority to establish the PDAB.
The Division of Financial Regulation, in consultation with the PDAB, is entering rulemaking to establish annual fees to be paid by manufacturers that sell prescription drugs in this state and the affordability review process.
