The Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) is preparing to begin rulemaking on mental health parity specifically for HB 3046 enacted during the 2021 Legislative Session. The bill provides clarity on the services covered underneath mental health parity and specifies requirements for the use of nonquantitative treatment limits. It also requires insurers to conduct an analysis and report to the DCBS on several factors related to coverage, claims handling, utilization management, comparison to medical/surgical benefits, and reimbursement.
