Oregon PDAB proposed policy recommendations

Here are draft policy recommendations the Oregon PDAB will discuss at the Oct. 21, 2026 meeting. At the Sept. 16 meeting, the board discussed four policy concepts introduced at the July 15 board meeting, along with a policy concept submitted by Dr. Daniel Hartung, vice chair. Board members agreed to move forward with discussions on the original four policy concepts. The Oregon PDAB provides policy recommendations in its annual report for the Oregon Legislature each December.

Draft policy recommendations for Oct. 21, 2026

• Expand PDAB scope beyond current affordability reviews for individual drugs

• Orphan drug review refinements

• Address key issues in pharmacy benefit manager (PBM) practices

• Commercial health plan continuity of care requirement for prescription drugs
