Preventive care: Helping you stay healthy and avoid illness

Even if you are in good health, it is important to get care that can prevent illness or detect problems early, when treatment is more effective. The scores for preventive care tell you how well each health insurer works with its providers to maintain or improve the physical health of its members. They include if members get regular breast cancer screenings with mammograms, cervical cancer screening, chlamydia screening, and regular check-ups for developing children.
