Preventive care scores

Even if you are in good health, it’s important to get care that can prevent illness or detect problems early, when treatment is more effective. The scores for preventive care tell you how well each health insurer works with its providers to maintain or improve the physical health of its members.

What do these mean?

Better, Average, Below

We collect data from health insurers that show if they are providing recommended care at a reasonable cost. We also collect results from satisfaction surveys that measure the experience of members with their health insurer.

  • Better:Scored well above the average for insurance carriers in the study.
  • Average:Scored in the middle among insurance carriers in the study.
  • Below:Scored well below the average for insurance carriers in the study.
