Can my company access and maintain information about our loan originators in NMLS?
An exempt mortgage company does not have to be on the National Mortgage License System (NMLS). However, your company wants access to your loan originators' information and to be able to establish the "sponsorship," your company must be on the NMLS. To facilitate this, Oregon offers a registration option where exempt companies may voluntarily register on the NMLS. You can get more information about the registration process.
Is there a fee to register on the NMLS?
The division does not charge any fee to exempt companies that voluntarily register on the NMLS. However, there are user fees charged by NMLS for using the system. NMLS charges $100 per firm.
